A young lady by the name of Margaret Virginia Jordan was born in Wrens, Ga on November 22, 1947, to the late Ossie and Margaret Jordan.
Mother Margaret received her education from the School District of Indian River County. Due to her academic excellence, teachers would often request her assistance in instructing the class.
Mother Margaret lived a life filled with warmth and generosity, always surrounding herself with children whom she cherished deeply. She became a “mother” to some. Her career in housekeeping reflected her dedication and hard work, while her true joy came from cooking for her family and friends.
Mother Margaret was a woman devoted to God and lived her life in alignment with her faith. She followed her spiritual paths she believed in, demonstrating her commitment through both her actions and character. She was a devoted and faithful member of Staten Temple for more than 20 years, consistently participating in the church community.
She faithfully served on the Usher Board with grace and dedication. She was deeply committed to the Women’s Ministry, where she played an active role in developing and supporting programs that uplifted and strengthened the women of the church. As a member of the Mother’s Board, she provided wisdom, guidance, and nurturing support to the church family. She also served in the Street Ministry, actively engaging in outreach efforts that extended the church’s mission beyond its walls and into the wider community.
On January 20, 2026, Mother Margaret Virginia Jordan Saunders was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband Prince Albert Saunders; beloved nephew Jermaine, whom she regarded as a “son”; siblings Clarice Rivers, Robert Jordan, Ossie Jordan Jr, Mary Louise Williams, Fletcher Jordan, Ruby Mincey, Cleaster Brown, Rufus Jordan, and Evelyn Jordan.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lee Ella Walker, with whom she shared a close and enduring bond, and Brenda Bartee (James), affectionately known as her “baby sister,” who shared with her unconditional love; Debra Wiseman, whom she adored and regarded as a “daughter.” Her great nephews Timothy Williams Jr., who was dedicated in his role as her caretaker and Tyriq Williams. They both held a special place in her heart. Their presence brought great joy to Aunt Margaret; Her niece Marilyn Anderson whom she had special bond with.
She is also survived by her special nieces who provided devoted and compassionate care Rosalyn Weathers (Darryl), Queen Horskins, Carolyn Pierre (Manny), and Irma Woodard (Gil);her nephew, Timothy Williams Sr., whom she greatly admired; her godchildren India Jordan-Alleyne (Jermaine), Brittany Hazzard-Walker (James), and Ariel Reason; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
